Michael Lowery is a SQL Server database professional who has been working with SQL Server since the year 2000. Michael started out as a database developer, writing application code and designing and developing relational databases. Then, as he learned more about SQL Server, he began handling ETL processes and reporting initiatives. This eventually led him to taking on a role as a database administrator. Currently, he is working as a database and business intelligence architect.
Michael’s experience with using SQL Server spans versions, including 2000/2005/2008/2008 R2/2012/2014/2016. He has had extensive experience in planning, designing, testing, implementing, and supporting database applications with various development tools and languages. He has developed skills at ensuring that SQL Server database systems operate efficiently and securely. Additionally, he has a detailed understanding of high availability solutions, including server clustering, database mirroring, replication, log shipping, AlwaysOn, and security and backup procedures to ensure database integrity.
During Michael’s time working with SQL Server, he has worked for various types of companies, including a non-profit publisher, a market research company, a law firm, a consulting company in their legal practice, and now he is currently at a financial services company. Michael also works on part-time, short-term, off-site consulting contracts.
